For a long time, I believed that architecture was a luxury. I was convinced that to build something you just needed engineers, but I was wrong. When I started my studies in climate change, I understood that each component is important.

In other words, architecture and climate change are connected. Architecture through the construction industry consumed nearly 6% of global final energy use and through buildings consumed 30% in 2015. Buildings and construction industry represented 39% of global energy-related CO2 emissions in 2015 (IEA/OCDE 2017). These values vary from country to country. For example, in the USA construction sector consumed 8% in 2017 according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
The key point
The key point is that global emissions are causing climate change. To sum up, architects can use their creative ideas and new technologies to design sustainable buildings that will help to reduce the impact on the environment.
